How to get employees involved in your giving program?
But how do you get employees to take part in your personal fundraiser? And what can you do to make the most of the potential of your giving program?
Darujme.cz is also used by
that want to spread philanthropy among their employees, do something extra or be socially responsible. If you are running an employee fundraiser or thinking about starting one, Darujme.cz offers all the features you need to support a nonprofit organization quickly and easily among your employees, partners or customers.
For example, Nestlé Česko joined forces with Charita Česká republika (Caritas Czech Republic) to help social and care service homes that looked after seniors both in residential facilities and at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. The voluntary donations of Nestlé employees went to the “Healthcare Support Fund” (Fond pomoci zdravotní péči), whose goal is to secure the technological and staff development of healthcare for seniors.
Thanks to the funds raised, it was possible to purchase mobile oxygen concentrators, which significantly help with the respiratory problems associated with Covid-19. The campaign of TeeTime SE also helped to buy mobile oxygen concentrators.
Nonprofit organizations can also take the initiative themselves and ask friendly companies, or specific employees directly, for support. But how do you get employees to take part? And what can you do to make the most of the potential of your giving program?
Give employees a choice
Before you launch an employee fundraiser, it is good to know how your employees feel about it. Whom would they like to support? Which values matter most to them? Let them support an organization or charitable project that is meaningful to them.
Be consistent
If employees know exactly what to expect from the giving program, they are more likely to take part. Schedule the launch of the campaign around the holidays, or declare any month of your choosing the “month of giving” in your company, and then stick to the same timing and conditions every year.
Build a brand
Think about how you can weave the charitable mission into the way your company works and into its corporate culture. Create a brand, hashtag or logo of its own for your employee charity initiative. Programs with names and slogans are easier to remember and can connect better with your company's values.
Spread the word about your fundraiser
Advertising experts say a message needs to be seen at least three times before recipients even notice it. Make sure the information about the fundraiser actually reaches your employees.
Offer matching
So-called corporate matching can also motivate employees to join the fundraiser. How does it work? For every crown an employee contributes, the company adds, for example, another CZK 5. Of course, you can choose any ratio that suits your means.
Set a goal
Do you want at least half of all employees to take part? Do you want to raise CZK 100,000? Whatever your goal is, set it in advance so that you can evaluate how successful the campaign was once it ends.
Try not to put employees under pressure; giving should always be voluntary. And if you don't succeed the first time? Never mind! Learn from your mistakes and try again.
