The donations currently being collected will help cover the transport of more than 15,000 solar panels to the communities of Zhytomyr, Sambir, Chernihiv and other cities. We received the panels as a donation — now we need to get them to Ukraine. Truck transportation will cost CZK 1,000,000. 

At the beginning of January, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy confirmed that the country currently does not have a single fully functioning large power plant. The energy situation is critical.

In severe frost, Kyiv and other regions are left without electricity and heating for weeks at a time. People cannot heat their homes, do laundry, or warm up food.

Cities are struggling with power outages; some have electricity for only two hours a day. The most at risk are hospitals and other critical infrastructure facilities that need a continuous supply of electricity to operate.

That is why we are raising funds to install solar power plants.

Since 2023, individuals and companies have supported the Sun for Ukraine initiative with donations totaling CZK 8 million. Thanks to their contributions, solar power plants have been built in Sumy, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Kolomyia, Zaporizhzhia, and ten other cities.

Solar panels provide not only immediate support, but also long-term assistance in rebuilding war-torn Ukraine.
