The annual General Assembly is always shaped by a familiar tension: on the one hand, the need to meet all formal requirements and approve the agenda mandated by our Statutes; on the other, the desire to attract more members and create space for a meaningful discussion about the future of our community. This year, we are seeking to strike a balance by expanding the agenda to include topics focused on the community's future, complemented by an accompanying program designed to encourage broader participation and engagement.

The agenda proposed by the Representative Assembly also includes several forward-looking topics:
Planned development projects
Engagement with the younger generation
Programs for the second generation
Strengthening community life
A discussion on the Statutes of the Jewish Community of Prague
The Members' Assembly will be followed by two special discussion events. In the High Synagogue, participants will have an opportunity to engage with Rabbi Yehuda Yesharim in a discussion entitled “Lapid: A Model for Coexistence Between Secular and Observant Jews.”
At the same time, the large hall on the third floor will host a presentation by Rami Davidian, one of the heroes of October 7, 2023, who helped rescue numerous people following the attack on the Nova music festival. The presentation will be followed by a discussion with the audience, and interpretation will be provided. During his visit to Prague, Mr. Davidian is also expected to meet with pupils and students of the Lauder Schools and with members of the Maiselovka Club.
We kindly ask you to support this accompanying program with a donation and help us cover our guests' travel and accommodation expenses during their stay in Prague.
The Jewish Community of Prague organizes a wide range of programs and events for its members of all ages, from newborns to seniors.
Donations to community projects play a vital role in supporting and strengthening community life. These contributions help fund initiatives developed directly by community members, as well as educational, cultural, and social programs and events that foster engagement, connection, and the continued vitality of the community.
Community Projects
The Jewish Community of Prague organizes a wide range of programs and events for its members of all ages, from newborns to seniors.
Every donation makes a meaningful difference. By supporting community projects, you help transform ideas into action, empower initiatives developed by our members, and sustain the educational, cultural, and social programs that are at the heart of Jewish communal life. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community and create opportunities for people of all ages to learn, celebrate, and belong.
One of the cornerstone community events is Limmud, a family-oriented extended weekend filled with learning, inspiring lectures, meaningful encounters, and engaging programs for both adults and children.
Donations to community projects have an even greater impact thanks to our matching fund program. Funds raised to support member-led initiatives are matched by the Jewish Community of Prague, which contributes an additional crown for every crown donated. Particularly exceptional projects may receive even higher levels of matching support, helping innovative ideas become reality.
The Jewish Community of Prague currently provides financial support to a wide range of initiatives, organizations, and groups, including Feigele Children's Theatre, Besamim, the Rafael Institute, children's and day camps, Limmud, the Mišpacha Choir, Bejachad Preschool, and the Terezín Initiative.
Among the highlights of the community calendar are the celebrations of Hanukkah and Purim, which bring together members of all generations in a vibrant expression of Jewish life and tradition.
Other community initiatives include Shabbatons: shared Shabbat experiences featuring distinguished guests and enriching discussions, as well as Havdalah gatherings, which provide opportunities for social connection and communal engagement at the close of Shabbat.
Your support makes these programs possible. By contributing to community projects, you help strengthen Jewish life in Prague, encourage grassroots initiatives, and ensure that meaningful opportunities for learning, celebration, and connection remain available for people of all ages.
