One of the cornerstone community events is Limmud, a family-oriented extended weekend filled with learning, inspiring lectures, meaningful encounters, and engaging programs for both adults and children.
Donations to community projects have an even greater impact thanks to our matching fund program. Funds raised to support member-led initiatives are matched by the Jewish Community of Prague, which contributes an additional crown for every crown donated. Particularly exceptional projects may receive even higher levels of matching support, helping innovative ideas become reality.
The Jewish Community of Prague currently provides financial support to a wide range of initiatives, organizations, and groups, including Feigele Children's Theatre, Besamim, the Rafael Institute, children's and day camps, Limmud, the Mišpacha Choir, Bejachad Preschool, and the Terezín Initiative.
Among the highlights of the community calendar are the celebrations of Hanukkah and Purim, which bring together members of all generations in a vibrant expression of Jewish life and tradition.
Other community initiatives include Shabbatons: shared Shabbat experiences featuring distinguished guests and enriching discussions, as well as Havdalah gatherings, which provide opportunities for social connection and communal engagement at the close of Shabbat.
