Contribute to scholarships for students with health disadvantages, from children’s homes, or socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation provides financial support to students from socially disadvantaged families, children’s homes, and to students with health handicap, helping them access quality education and pursue their academic goals.
The scholarship program focuses on removing barriers to education. Many young people are unable to continue their studies due to their families’ limited financial resources. Instead, they often feel pressured to enter the workforce early in order to help support their households. In the past, this mainly affected single-parent families and larger families with multiple children. Unfortunately, in today’s economic climate, such challenges can affect almost anyone. – Monika Granja, Director of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation
Mikuláš Klenor is a PhD student in Modeling the Chemical Properties of Nano- and Biostructures at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. He is also a researcher at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Emílie Dlabačová is a sixth-year student at Dance Center Prague – Conservatory and a member of the student dance company Ballet Prague Junior 2. Mgr. Jiří Zeman, a former scholarship recipient, successfully graduated from the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University despite living with a serious handicap. Today, he works as a judicial assistant at the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic.
Students enrolled in secondary schools or universities in the Czech Republic may apply for support from the Education Fund. Monthly scholarships are provided throughout the duration of their studies, as long as they continue to meet the program’s criteria.
Since the program’s founding in 1995, 734 students have received long-term scholarship support, and another 656 have been granted one-time contributions to cover tuition fees or study-related expenses.
The average monthly scholarship is CZK 2,500. Students use these funds to pay for exam preparation courses, essential school supplies, tutoring, and other paid educational activities — both in and outside of school. The scholarship can also help cover transportation and accommodation costs.
