Czech Epilepsy Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 by parents and friends of people with epilepsy. It is the only professional socially oriented organization in the Czech Republic that has been supporting people with epilepsy and their loved ones for 35 years, with nationwide coverage, regardless of age and extent of the disease. Czech Epilepsy Association's mission is to improve the position of people with epilepsy in society. It focuses on spreading awareness about this disease and living with it among both service users and the general public. The goal is to destigmatize this disease, eliminate fears about it, improve the attitude of the surrounding community and increase awareness of providing first aid for epileptic seizures.
