The goal of the foundation is to restore the cultural character of the area beneath the APOLLO pavilion (small castle) and the surroundings of the Mlýnský pond near Lednice in Moravia, so that people from the surrounding area will be encouraged to take walks there, and the original vision of the temple’s builders can be fulfilled. Our ancestors left us a beautiful structure above the meadow, surrounded by poplars and local trees, which provided shade during the hot summer months for passersby, swimmers, and birdwatchers alike. Over the course of ten years, the meadow became overgrown with bushes and wild growth, so we decided to restore the meadow and its surroundings to their former beauty. A large portion of the work was done last year, but there is still much to be done. The invasive acacia trees continue to grow, even in dry conditions, and it is necessary to remove the remaining stumps from the meadow, trim dry branches, and plant new trees according to the care plan by Ing. Přemysl Krejčiřík. Additionally, we need to repair the wall above the beach and the stairs leading to the water. The walk around the pond is beautiful, but from the sluice gate to the parking lot, one has to walk along a busy road, which is dangerous. Therefore, another one of our projects is to build an observation footbridge on the slope of the dam next to the road. Currently, we need support to create a study for this project. We would like to carry out the design and implementation as a volunteer project. Everything that has been done so far has been completed in our free time with the help of enthusiastic volunteers, just like us. We are grateful that there are more of us, and together we can make the things around us more beautiful :-)
