Restoration of the meadow and beach under the Temple of Apollo near Lednice in Moravia

Hello, we are glad that you are with us and reading these lines. The aim of this project is to restore the cultural appearance of the area beneath the Salet (chateau) known as the APOLLON TEMPLE and the surrounding area of the Mlýnský Pond near Lednice in Moravia. Many tourists visit this place, and after 10 years of neglect by the state, the meadow and its surroundings have been devastated by overgrowth. We are working to bring back a beautiful meadow that invites people to sunbathe and relax. A large part of the work was accomplished last year, but there is still much to be done. The invasive acacias continue to grow even during dry periods, we need to remove the remaining stumps from the meadow, trim dry branches, plant new trees according to the care plan by Ing. Přemysl Krejčiřík, repair the wall above the beach, and so on. Whether or not you contribute to the project, if you are traveling to southern Moravia, be sure to stop by and enjoy the stunning view of the Apollon Temple from the pond.

The aim of this project is to restore the cultural appearance of the area beneath the Salet (chateau) known as APOLLO and the surroundings of the Mlýnský Pond near Lednice in Moravia, so that it becomes a place where not only local people but also tourists from the wider area will enjoy walking. Our ancestors left us a beautiful building above a meadow planted with poplars and local trees, which provided shade to passers-by, bathers, and birdwatchers during the hot summer days. Over the past 10 years, the meadow has become overgrown with bushes and wild growth, which is why we have decided to restore the meadow and its surroundings to their former beauty. Moreover, this area is part of the Lednice-Valtice Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A large part of the work was done last year with the help of volunteers, but there is still a lot to be done. The invasive acacias continue to grow even during dry periods, the remaining stumps in the meadow need to be removed, dry branches trimmed, bushes cleared, new trees planted according to the care plan by Ing. Přemysl Krejčiřík, the wall above the beach needs to be repaired, the steps leading into the water need to be fixed, and many other important little tasks remain.

We would be happy if you support our activity and come to see how your generous donation has been put to use.
