SILENT HERO

Once a soul has experienced the sounds of the wilderness and the immediacy of life on long-distance trails, it can no longer stay put. Come with me into the unknown and ADOPT MY KILOMETERS ONCE AGAIN. ARPIDA NEEDS a MOTOmed gracile12 and standing bags. ---------------------------- May 2026: I spent 134 days in the wilderness, walked over 3,100 km across the whole of New Zealand, you adopted kilometers worth over 300,000 CZK, I survived 3 birthing seasons, wore out 3 pairs of shoes, crossed 2 islands, and got to know 1 country. THANKS TO YOUR ADOPTION OF MY KILOMETERS, Arpida has purchased a WalkAid and an OmniHi5—electrostimulation devices for the legs and arms. I’m sailing to NEW CALEDONIA. For the first time ever, adopt kilometers on the ocean. Arpida still needs a Motomed, a device for relaxing and strengthening the upper and lower limbs. It’s a special exercise bike for people with mobility issues in their arms and legs. I will walk more than 3 000 km across New Zealand to support the Arpida Center for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities in České Budějovice and purchase a WalkAide electrostimulation device—a small electronic device that can transform the unsteady gait of people with disabilities into stable steps. Hi, this is Anežka. My backpack may be resting under a pile of everyday tasks for now, but the project that has grown dear to my heart is coming back to life.

The Silent Hero is coming back to life.

The Silent Hero’s journey doesn’t usually end where the maps end; it always pushes the boundaries of what is (un)attainable. The Silent Hero is a project that continues within each of us, with every step; the journey across New Zealand—134—may have seemingly reached its goal and come to an end, but the traces of its impact are still evident at the Arpida center. Thanks to your support—which covered more than 300,000 CZK for my journey—Arpida was able to acquire the WalkAid and OmniHi5 rehabilitation devices, as well as its first MOTOMED.

A silent hero does not belong to just one country; it does not belong only to New Zealand. It is an inner compass that compels us to lift our heads and look toward the next horizon, beyond which may lie further unimagined possibilities.

December 2025:
Hello, I’m Anežka — the girl with a small backpack, big smile, and even bigger dreams.

Once again, I’m packing my bag to come closer - closer to myself, to the world, and to those who walk their own invisible path of courage every single day. An adventure called Te Araroa awaits me: a 3000 kilometre trail across the whole of New Zealand, from its windswept north to its quiet south. I will walk through landscapes where the ocean touches the mountains, and through nature where I’ll discover how much strength lies in silence and in the simple act of taking one step forward.

But this time, I’ve decided to walk with a greater purpose - to support the ARPIDA Centre in České Budějovice, Czechia. A centre dedicated to supporting children and adults with disabilities, providing therapy, education, and tools to improve their independence and quality of life.

My goal is to raise €8,250 for a WalkAide electrostimulation device, a small piece of technology that can turn an unsteady and wobbly walk into steps filled with stability. A tiny device with the power to make an enormous difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Let’s help someone get on their feet and take their first steps toward a future where they may one day run freely.

And the best part? You can be part of this journey by adopting my kilometres! Because together, we can achieve greater things.

Te Araroa means The Long Path in Māori. And I know it’s not just an apt name for my next adventure - it’s a metaphor for life itself. Each of us walks our own path, long or short. Sometimes with confidence, sometimes with fear, but always with the hope that something meaningful is waiting at the end. When you walk with an open heart, every step becomes a doorway to new stories and new possibilities. And with every step taken with an open heart, you also come closer and closer to your true self.

But some of us need a little help to walk and that’s where we can help.

This time, I don’t want to walk entirely alone. I want to dedicate this journey to the silent heroes, people and children who may not walk thousands of kilometres, but who cross their own boundaries every day and face challenges you won’t find on any map.

That’s why I’ve chosen to support the ARPIDA Centre in České Budějovice, which has long been helping children and adults with disabilities.
