Gift accessible yoga assistance

At every class, alongside an experienced, specially trained teacher, there is also a yoga assistant. With their quiet and supportive presence, our assistants make yoga movements more accessible. They help adapting and modifying yoga poses, offer props, and notice the small details that make the difference between a practice that is merely possible and one that is truly safe and supportive. Our assistants are not a bonus. They are essential. They make it possible for people with specific needs to take part safely and fully. We need your help to pay our assistants in our classes through June 2027. Help us keep yoga accessible for those who appreciate and need it so much and who might otherwise be left out.

LATEST UPDATE

We’re absolutely delighted that the campaign is so close to reaching its fundraising goal. Thank you, your support has been incredible!

Given the strong interest in the campaign and the number of people who have told us they would still like to contribute, we have decided to increase the target by CZK 10,000.

These additional funds will help cover the training of rehabilitation professionals at a rehabilitation centre we have recently partnered with, where we are preparing a pilot programme of Taky jóga classes.

Please join us in making this possible and help us launch a new class within the rehabilitation centre, where yoga can become a valuable complement to the rehabilitation plans of people living with significant mobility challenges.

Any funds raised beyond CZK 106,000 will be used to support the work of a teaching assistant during the pilot phase of the Taky jóga programme at the Rehabilitation Institute Kladruby.

Together we can go a long way!

Imagine heading to a yoga class—or any activity you enjoy. You take off your shoes and sweatshirt, grab a sip of tea, roll out your mat… and simply begin.

Now imagine what it takes for our student, Gábi, to do the same.

Gábi lives with the effects of cerebral palsy. She uses a wheelchair and has spent her life learning how to move with a body facing several major constraints. Even something as simple as taking off a layer, having a drink, or getting ready for class is a challenge she cannot manage without support.

That’s why every class includes not only a trained teacher, but also an experienced assistant. Each yoga session requires at least one assistant.

For Gábi, the assistant prepares her space and props, stays close throughout the class, and offers stability, reassurance, and gentle support—helping her engage her body in ways she couldn’t on her own.

And because of that, Gábi, too, can simply enjoy yoga.

We run three weekly classes for people who rely on an individual approach and hands-on assistance. One thing has become clear: assistants are essential. Without them, many of our students wouldn’t be able to take part at all.

In the beginning, our assistants volunteered their time. As our community has grown, so has the need—and it’s no longer sustainable without fair pay.

That’s why we’re reaching out to you today.

Please support our assistants, so they can continue to be there for Gábi and others in Taky jóga classes through June 2027.

Your donation means:
– an extra pair of hands for someone who cannot move without support
– a class that can run safely and without limitations
– one more person who can simply experience the joy of yoga

You might also consider a monthly gift, helping us provide steady, ongoing support.

Help us keep yoga accessible to those who need it most.

Even a small donation can make a meaningful difference.

Whether you choose to give once or regularly, we are truly grateful for your support.
