Silence against drones: Help us get antiauthoritarian defender Anton a silent motorbike đź–¤
Anton, an anti-authoritarian defender and long-time activist, has come to us with an urgent request. His artillery reconnaissance unit needs an off-road electric motorbike to move safely and quietly while carrying out its work! Thanks to the motorbike, they will hear the enemy attack drones trying to strike them as they move. Help us make Anton’s unit’s movements quieter!
The quad bikes the defenders have been using up to now are extremely loud, and over the deafening roar of the engines, the soldiers cannot hear the enemy drones attempting to strike them as they move. This leads to many tragic injuries before the soldiers even have a chance to defend themselves. For the past few years, a saying has circulated among Ukrainian defenders: the best plans are made in complete silence. Help us make Anton’s unit’s movements quieter!
Before choosing to defend against the occupiers since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Anton has spent years working tirelessly as an activist. Through grassroots organising, he has fought for social justice: campaigning against corruption, helping independent trade unions form and grow, blocking opaque and illegal developments from taking over parks and public markets, and protecting wildlife by shutting down exclusive clubs that organised the illegal capture of endangered species for the wealthiest.
The total cost of this special electric outdoor motorbike is about 4 000 EUR. But we’ve been saving the best news until now: a quarter of the total amount needed to buy the motorbike has already been paid! We’ve already covered the 1 000 EUR deposit, which secured the unit a place on the waiting list in time, using donations raised outside the public fundraising campaign. But around the turn of October and November, the remaining balance will be due so that the Artillery Reconnaissance Battery of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade can take the motorbike straight into service!
