SOS Children’s Villages: A Halloween Neighborhood Appeal – Hradčanská–Dejvická–Podbaba

 Dear neighbors,
Once again, we’ll be gathering together with our families - and especially with our children - to celebrate Halloween, a holiday full of joy, lights, and good cheer. 🎃
 This year, I’d also like to invite you to join me in doing something meaningful for others: let’s support children whose start in life hasn’t been easy.
 Let’s help fund support for for the youngest children, lovingly cared for by the organization SOS Children’s Villages.

I’m kicking things off with a 2,000 CZK donation - please join in, every contribution makes a difference. ❤️I believe that toghether we can make it to at least 25 000 Kč.

SUPPORT FOR THE YOUNGEST CHILDREN is essential because it:
  • Strengthens the bond between children and their caregivers, whether parents or foster carers.
  • Teaches parents to understand their child’s needs.
  • Supports the development of language, play and movement through everyday activities.
  • Helps parents manage their own worries and stress so they do not pass them on to their children.
  • Helps parents meet their child’s basic material needs—housing, food, clothing and healthcare—when illness or other circumstances prevent them from doing so on their own.
  • Helps prevent children from being separated from their families whenever it is safe for them to stay.
SOS Children's villages social workers help children by supporting their parents, so that good care and strong emotional bonds continue long after that support ends. The aim is for mothers and fathers to be able to give their children what matters most themselves—not only by meeting their material needs, but above all by providing loving relationships and emotional support. Our social workers take the same approach with foster carers, helping them understand the behaviour of children who have experienced loss and strengthen their bond with them.
