For my birthday on May 22nd and Robert’s birthday on June 24th, we decided to celebrate a little differently. We joined the fundraiser “So Boys and Girls Can Go to Summer Camp”, because we both have three children and know how much friendship, adventure, and camp experiences can mean in a child’s life. And at the end of the campaign, we’ll add an extra 7% from our own funds.

When I realized that this year I’m turning 49, it struck me that it’s not just another number. It’s 7×7 — and seven is often considered a lucky number.
So Robert Oppelt and I decided to celebrate our birthdays in a different way. Instead of focusing only on gifts and cake, we wanted to support something meaningful.
We joined the fundraiser “So Boys and Girls Can Go to Summer Camp”, which helps children experience something many of us take for granted: friendship, adventure, campfires, nature, belonging to a group, and memories that often stay with us for a lifetime.
We both have three children, so we know how important shared experiences and a sense of belonging can be. We also know that not every family can easily afford these opportunities.
Our birthday challenge runs from May 22nd to June 24th — Robert’s birthday. And because seven is our lucky number, we decided to add one more symbolic touch: we’ll contribute an extra 7% on top of the total amount raised.
We’ll be grateful for any contribution — even a symbolic 77 CZK (or any amount you choose). Every donation can help a child enjoy a summer they’ll remember for years.
