Help for the Next Paulas and Pauls

Hi everyone,
 I’m starting this challenge for all the Pavlas out there.

When my colleague from the advertising agency Ogilvy, Pavla Tichá, was diagnosed with cancer, she was completely alone.  Out of that experience, Amelie was created – a place full of support and understanding, where no one has to go through illness without help.

I know myself how suddenly and cruelly cancer can strike.  My beloved mother Naďa passed away in the autumn of 2011. It was a shock out of the blue – just ten days after her diagnosis.  We were paralyzed, not knowing where to turn or how to find help.

For Pavla, the strength and determination to help others gave her meaning and energy – and extended her life from an initial prognosis of two years to nearly ten.

What once helped Pavla now helps hundreds of others.
Amelie brings support, hope, and small moments of joy into very difficult days.
I wish that no one would have to miss out on this kind of support – from professionals and volunteers in hospitals.

This year, Amelie celebrates 20 years.
 And I truly hope it can continue to be here for many more Pavlas.
