I'm a mom who lost her baby boy at 24 weeks pregnant
Let me introduce myself. My name is Veronika, I’m mother of three-year-old Miss Antonia and wife of a wonderful man Tomáš.
Our story began to be written at the beginning of 2024. Like most mothers, longing for another baby, I was already a bit nervous that the baby was still not coming ... As much as you don't want to admit it or think about it, it's still in your head. After a more thorough examination, everything seems fine. My head calmed down and within a month I had a positive test. Even though you know that the first trimester can be risky, everything went perfectly fine. The checkups went great and I was only bothered by fatigue and nausea. After the 1st screening, we were able to share the happy news with family and friends. Although my daughter knew from the beginning, she surprisingly did not tell anyone and was very excited about the baby. The second screening followed. The baby was doing well and matched the charts. One is relieved that everything is as it should be and can look forward to the end of November and the arrival of the baby ...
Then came the fateful Monday, August 5. I had a strange feeling that the baby was somehow lazy, his gentle movements had stopped. I called my gynaecologist to see if I could come in for a check-up. That something didn't seem right. As soon as he started examining me, I knew it was wrong. The doctor immediately confirmed my fears. The baby's heart stopped beating...

Adam was born in the 24th week of pregnancy on 6 August 2024 at 6.30 in the morning, 720 g, 20 cm... The pain that accompanied his birth can only be understood by those who have been through it.
The maternity hospital cooperates with the "Child in the Heart" foundation and thanks to the memory box we received, we have at least a small memory of Adamek. In addition to practical information, the family can also benefit from the support of their consultants. We had the idea to set up a donation appeal right away, it just took a while to mature. Unfortunately, we are not the only ones who have suffered such a tragic event. We want to help an organization that does very deserving work. Even a small amount can go a long way to support the work and help other families going through the same pain.
