Mazak runs for Good Fairies

We are a group of friends who work for the machine tool supplier Yamazaki Mazak, who have come together to take on a big challenge and give something back to the community. Specifically, we have decided to take on the Vltava Run, a 369-kilometre relay race between Šumava and Prague, which begins on 11th September.

 

Are we crazy? Maybe, but we’re doing this for a really good cause – a non-profit organisation called Good Fairies. Volunteers from the organisation, known as ‘Fairies,’ regularly visit children in orphanages, keeping them company and helping them to play and learn. In line with the company’s motto, ‘a hug is better than a toy,’ the Fairies listen to and support the children, and it is this selflessness that has inspired us to put on our trainers for the Vltava Run.

 

Though the organisation currently works with four orphanages, Good Fairies is looking to further expand its efforts and we need your financial support to make this dream a reality. One of the Fairies is even running alongside us for this excellent cause, so any donations you could spare would be greatly appreciated. We are working hard to be ready for race day, and believe that our sweat, blood and tears during training will both help us finish and give this fantastic organisation the support they need.
