Due to the radiotherapy treatment I do have problems with my lungs, which does not allow me to run, so I have decided to walk. A lot.
1st of August I am setting off to a 500km long pilgrimage walk in the North of Spain – Camino de Santiago. I would like to dedicate this walk to a 16-year-old Beatka, who is currently undergoing an oncological treatment and with your help, make her wish come true.
“Hello, my name is Beata and I am 16 years old. I am a high school student in Gymnázium Jeseník, but due to the treatemnt I had to suspend my studies. In April 2018 I was diagnosed with chordoma of clivus. I have undergone one surgery of adenoids and then four brain surgeries in the hospital in Brno, Bohunice. After the fourth surgery the treatment continued with radiotherapies in the proton center in Prague. It is a relapse. They have counted and planned 42 sessions of radiotherapy, which resulted in 8 month hospitalization in the hospital Motol and I had to travel every single day (apart from weekends) to other hospital Bulovka. I am living with my siblings and my parents in a small house, where there is an opportunity of reconstruction of an attic, where I could have my own room. I would appreciate any kind of financial support.” - Beatka
I personally have been diagnosed with oncological disease when I was 16 and later again when I was 18, therefore I understand, how important and how much needed is a help in these hard moments. I will be really happy If we manage to (thanks to your donations) make Beatka's wish come true!
How is the reconstruction going to look like? I am attaching a photo of the attic and a description of the reconstruction by Beatka: “My idea of the reconstruction was to reconstruct the attic in a way so I can have for my own in future. My health situation is not the best and I know that I will need parents help for the rest of my life. The money will be firstly used for bathroom and toilet, kitchen counter, construction of a staircase and only then for the furnishing. Only now, I have found out, after consulting it with a specialist, that the final cost can be approx. 80-100 000 CZK. If we manage to raise money in this challenge, we are going to start the reconstruction straight away. Thank you very much for what you are doing for me, I really appreciate it a lot. I still believe, and my family, that my health state will get better and I will be enjoying nicer moments than these ones. It’s been too long, I’ve been in the treatment since 2018 and I am already kind of tired, but I will not give up, because I am a fighter”.

- 11/6/2019Reconstruction is almost finished! I am super happy that it actually came true and it was possible (in less than a month!) change this space completely! And all this thanks to you! For the complete finalization with the furnishing unfortunatelly is not enough money left. However, when we manage to find or save up some funds, we will inform you about the progress :)
- 8/17/2019Today, when I was having a breakfast near the sea with a view of a beautiful light house (due to which I did a 5k detour), I checked this challenge on the crowdfunding site @Darujme.cz and I was overwhelmed and filled with happiness and excitement! We managed to raise almost 89% of the goal amount! This amount also includes the “promised donations” which are done by a bank transfer (that still need to be proceeded). I am super happy and I want to thank you all for your support!
