I'm running a ½ marathon for charity!

For the past 2 years I have been active as a volunteer for ICOS Cesky Krumlov (within the program A Friend In Life). The volunteer centre focuses mainly on supporting children, physically disabled people and the elderly. Their work is important and I would like to invite you to support the centre either through running the race with me(a partner is always useful) or by making a financial contribution .This will be my second ½ marathon, but this time I would like the race to be more meaningful.

Thanks to all for their donations and I am looking forward to the madmen and women who would run the 21 kilometres with me.

In 2016 I had my first experience with the atmosphere at a race. The Mattoni ½ Marathon in Ceske Budejovice was a huge challenge for me and I didn’t think I would participate again. But then I had the thought of supporting our volunteer centre and I decided to take up this new challenge. Knowing I am running for a good cause will force me to give it all I have got.

The purpose of the program A Friend In Life is to enable children who have problems communicating, problems at school or within their families. The volunteers have the role of a friend who spends time with them once or more times a week. Me and my client K. get on great and spent many lovely moments together.

If anyone would like to take part in the race with me, registration is possible on the ICOS website. Part of the registration fee (500 CZK) goes to ICOS.

If running is not for you it is possible to support the organisation with a donation. To make it more fun I decided to do a training run of 21 km for every 1000 kc collected(my usual training session is about 5 km…)

I would like to thank everyone who supports me in advance. Any donation however small as well as participating in the race is very much appreciated. I am convinced that running a half marathon means really digging deep and is one of these things that you might well have on your bucket list.
