A Ukrainian army drone unit, which includes a Czech volunteer nicknamed "Senyk," is in urgent need of a reliable off-road pickup truck. Just a few years ago, its members were civilians; today, they are stopping Russian attacks every day and managing crucial logistics for drone operations on the front lines. However, time, the harsh terrain, and the enemy are all working against them. In this phase of the war, success often depends not just on courage, but on whether they have a vehicle to drive at all. Without a functional truck, troop movements are delayed, supplies run short, and the risk to the individuals involved increases. For them, a reliable vehicle means speed, efficiency, and—most importantly—a better chance of returning safely from their next mission.

My call sign is Senyk, named after the 20th-century Ukrainian political prisoner Iryna Senyk, who spent over 30 years in gulags and exile simply because she refused to give up the fight for freedom. Her story is one of many Ukrainian narratives that I find deeply inspiring. I joined the effort because I feel a debt toward Ukraine—for stopping the onslaught of Russian aggression at a massive cost while the rest of us were slowly waking up to the reality. War can only be countered with defense. It doesn't seem fair to me that Ukraine should have to defend itself alone against a country four times its size in population. Nor that a country which voluntarily gave up its nuclear weapons (following an agreement with the US, UK, and Russia) in exchange for a guarantee of its borders' inviolability should be forced to fight such an invasion. Since the beginning of this year, I have been serving in the Ukrainian army within a drone unit. Drone pilots stop Russian attacks so that the infantry doesn't have to; we ensure that these pilots have everything they need at their disposal. Efficient logistics and good equipment mean greater safety for all of us and a higher success rate in our fight for freedom. Your support is incredibly important to me and my colleagues!"
How your contributions will be used:
With the funds raised, we will purchase an off-road vehicle in the Czech Republic in the best possible condition. We are looking for a reliable 4x4 pickup capable of transporting personnel and cargo to the front lines as quickly as possible. We are not buying a luxury SUV, but a used vehicle that is rugged and easy to service.

Who we are helping:
The vehicle will be officially handed over to the drone unit where Senyk serves. This is not a "special forces" group, but a regular unit mostly made up of people who were doing completely different jobs just a few years ago. It was the full-scale Russian invasion that forced them into combat across Ukraine, where they gradually became professionals. They are ordinary people who have learned to achieve the impossible. Sadly, they have helped defend Ukraine at the cost of heavy losses. Fundraising among soldiers' families is constant. Soldiers often use their personal cars and pay for part of their equipment out of their own salaries.
Why do we keep raising money for cars?
"Cars are destroyed quickly; besides drones, they are threatened by mines and harsh terrain. A car might last a long time, or it might not. Losing a vehicle is part of the reality—if a drone is incoming, the car serves as a decoy so that the people inside can escape."
Why does helping make sense?
Support, fundraisers, on-site aid, raising awareness, political activity... Believe me, everything you do to support Ukraine matters.
The capacity for material support from the Czech Republic is on a completely different level than in Ukraine, where people are reaching the point of total exhaustion—physically, mentally, and economically. Foreign support is vital.
Every day, Russian attacks kill soldiers and civilians, but giving up is not an option. The only solution is a Ukrainian victory, and I believe we all understand that.
Freedom, fighting, victory... perhaps these words sound "theatrical" in a peaceful country, but this is our reality. If today’s war-torn hell is to turn back into a normal life for Ukraine, there is no use in sugarcoating it. Russia is not interested in compromise.
