In August 2026, devastating flash floods affected up to 1.6 million people in five districts of Nepal. We are helping people in Rasuwa District and other affected areas. We have worked in Rasuwa since the 2015 earthquake and still have strong connections with local communities and authorities.

We have delivered essential supplies to more than 1,000 people. We are providing food, hygiene items and other basic necessities, as well as supporting emergency shelters for people who have lost their homes.

The floods have affected much more than people's homes. Many families have also lost crops, livestock or other sources of income. We are assessing what local communities need to recover and preparing longer-term support.

The disaster has also had a significant impact on people's mental health. We are providing psychosocial support to people affected by the floods, as well as rescuers, healthcare workers and other frontline workers. Together with local authorities, we are also working to improve early warning systems for future natural disasters.
