Gleaning is one of the ways how to reduce the amount of wasted food. It means picking up fruit or vegetable that would remain on a field or in an orchard after the harvest. These crops usually do not follow the aesthetic criteria - they’re too small, too big, too crooked, improperly cut or their colour does not suit. But we will not let them down!

Farmers cannot sell them, and they are left in the field to be plowed in. We keep a tradition and go to the fields, pick the crops and then give them to a food bank that further redistributes the food to people in children’s homes and intervention centres.

During each gleaning visit we take pictures that we later share on our social media Photos serve us as a tool to spread the information about the problem of food waste in agriculture. Our vision is to bring this tradition to other parts of the Czech Republic. Help us spread our idea to other parts of the Czech Republic. In 2020 we want to help to create independent gleaning groups close to Prague.
