The Association for the Renewal of the Village and the Small Town (SOVAMM) was founded in 1990 as an association of professionals and those interested in vernacular architecture. The main activities of SOVAMM are surveys of the historical building stock and settlement structures, publishinh the results of this research and organizing exhibitions. The main SOVAMM long-term project is the Atlas of Vernacular Architecture, and the follow-up project SOVPIS with the aim of creating a digital archive of SOVAMM and converting the Atlas into a spatial information system.
