We’re setting up storytelling clubs in towns across the South Bohemian Region. We want people to get together and tell stories.
Who we are We are a group of people united by a passion for words, language, speech and storytelling.
Where we operate We are based in České Budějovice and operate in the South Bohemian Region, throughout the Czech Republic, and also abroad.
Our story We have different professions, interests and goals. On our journeys through life, we met at a single place: the spring. There, we discovered the art of storytelling. It wells up from the depths and is for everyone.
Together, we ensure that it does not run dry, and that it remains accessible to anyone who wishes to be refreshed by it.
What we’ve done so far We organise a festival, run community events, visit schools and nurseries, visit care homes for the elderly, and run educational courses and creative workshops. We tell stories wherever they’re needed. We’ve set up a storytelling club and would like to set up more. So that people can meet and share stories. So they can be offline and together. Storytelling means being together and also being yourself.
What we want to do We want to set up storytelling clubs in towns across the South Bohemian Region, and our long-term goal is to establish a storytelling centre. We want people to tell each other stories. To communicate and share (their) stories.
Why We live in an age where people often feel lonely, spend too much time in front of screens and lose touch with others. It is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between truth and misinformation. This is not good for our mental health. But we have a remedy. It is live storytelling. When people talk face to face, they’re together and offline. The human brain is naturally wired for stories. When telling stories, people get on the same wavelength, share experiences and a real sense of community is created. It’s wellness for the mind and soul. How can you get involved? We’re looking for people who love stories and want to build a community with us. Do you want to tell stories, listen, or create? Do you have your own idea, or do you just want to follow what’s happening? Join us and let’s get stuck in together!
