A garden to grow

With your generous support, we have built our nest and we could use it through the winter. We only miss a few things: a big window to bring more light into our tiny nest and stairs around the terrace for a comfortable use. Let’s get it done together! We are almost there!


We envisioned a small and warm nest that we were able to build with your help. Our tiny children and their parents could warm themselves after being outside on the most challenging days. We experienced -10 °C freezing cold, stormy wind and pouring rain through the winter. We like to challenge ourselves but it is amazing to go inside and warm our bodies and souls by the fireside sipping a cup of hot tea and having a piece of cake. Thank you for making it happen!

With your generous support, we have accomplished:
✓   Repair of the existing hut
✓   Extend the patio
✓   Insulate and lay a new wooden floor
✓   Replace the roof
✓   Install a solar system for water pumping and lighting

What we still miss:
  • Place a glass wall in the cottage for a permanent connection with nature
  • Build an outdoor seating area

We are two NGOs that work with children based on the principles of Waldorf pedagogy. Janíček Children's Club has been operating in Tábor for 10 years and is dedicated to care for preschool-aged children. GentleNest is a young organization with lots of ideas, initiatives and enthusiasm. It focuses on supporting families providing outdoor playgroup programmes for the smallest children (from 0-4 years) and workshops for families. Our organizations have a garden in the centre of Tábor. We work hard to transform it to become a magical place for children and families. The garden is also open for community gardening to the public, for leisure activities, events and festivals.

We ask for your financial support to complete the project. And we will be glad if you come to visit us because the garden is open to both children and their kind guides.
