Let's celebrate my 26th birthday by fundraising for 26 books for children, who cannot afford to have one.
I grew up surrounded by books. I read every book in my library at least three times. If I loved any series, there was no problem getting me all the books (besides waiting for years for the new Harry Potter!). It never occurred to me that there are children, who are not reading, potentially because they don't even own any books. And the world inside the books is so beautiful.
Therefore, I would like to invite you to join me in supporting People in Need and their project "Better school for everyone". They say "Our future is decided now, at schools". But the schools have been closed for a year here in the Czech Republic and the future is still uncertain. Children are supposed to learn by themselves as well as entertain themselves. I understand that a book might not be the first choice for all of them, but there should at least be the choice. As I had all of my life.
I would like to celebrate my birthday again by fundraising for a cause I strongly believe in and I would love for you to join me. I would like to fundraise a total of 3 000 CZK, which is enough to purchase 20 books for children.
I will throw in the last 6 books so that there is 26 of them.

Thank you for wanting to help Czech children together with us! Thanks to the Better School fund, we are helping children who do not have sufficient family background to get an education. We help them catch up with school through online and offline tutoring. Our teaching materials are used by teachers in almost three quarters of primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. We also care for preschoolers in adaptive groups so that they have the courage and skills for the first grade. We believe that education is the key to a better future.
Dětem ze sociálně slabých rodin pomáháme úspěšně zvládnout základní školu. Ve vzdělání doma i na dálku podporujeme více než 2 000 holek a kluků. Ačkoli doba pandemie je už za námi, zůstala nám tady díky ní online forma dobrovolnické podpory, přičemž děti mohou doučovat i studenti pedagogiky v rámci praxe.
Dobrovolníci pomáhají nejen s přípravou do školy, ale zároveň fungují jako spojka mezi rodinou a školou. Přesvědčit rodiče, že mají svoje děti v učení podporovat, je totiž mnohdy stejně důležité jako čas strávený doučováním. Úspěšné dokončení základní školy mimo jiné významně zvýší šance dětí získat v dospělosti zaměstnání.

Pomáháme dětem z chudých rodin úspěšně zvládnout vzdělávací dráhu.
Přinášíme metodickou podporu učitelům i asistentům pedagoga a zasazujeme se o inkluzi na školách.
Podporujeme zájem studentů o dění v současném světě a vedeme je k aktivnímu občanství.
