Every smile counts
Bring a smile to the elderly, for whom every cheerful moment is so important.
I´m a cheerful, sporty and social individual from a big family. I have enjoyed various sports since I was little, however running has always been my hobby rather than a competition. Usually after a few kilometres of suffering, running becomes easier and my legs lighter, and I smile like a marigold. After the run, pure joy comes from the distance and achievement, I am happy and I only want to spread the happiness around. That being said, I finally dared to register for the first half marathon of my life and I would like to share the challenge, the joy and happiness from the run with the elderly through the organization Zdravotní klaun.
Not every senior is fortunate enough to be surrounded by a family that cares for him/her; grandchildren or friends. Being alone and not having anybody to talk to, to laugh with and reminiscing is difficult, so I chose the Zdravotní klaun organization, which provides respectful visits to hospices, hospitals, retirement homes, that bring joy to the clients.
For my run, I set the goal to raise 10000 CZK (= 390 EUR; = 441 USD; = 617 AUD; = 337 GBP), please consider (even a little) donation. Your donation will bring a smile to seniors faces, it will also help them to establish new friendships and create new merry memories and experiences.
