The Prague Philharmonic Choir is the most prominent Czech professional choral ensemble, ranking among the absolute global elite for over nine decades. Since its founding in 1935, the choir has collaborated with leading Czech and international orchestras and conductors. The ensemble is renowned for its extraordinary versatility, ranging from the precise interpretation of Classical works to demanding premieres by contemporary composers. However, its core domain remains large-scale oratorios and cantatas. The Prague Philharmonic Choir regularly performs at prestigious festivals (such as the Prague Spring, Dvořák Prague, Smetana’s Litomyšl, the Lucerne Festival, and the BBC Proms) and serves as the choir-in-residence at the Bregenzer Festspiele. It also boasts a long list of award-winning recordings.
