Nadace CERGE-EI, Czech non-profit entity was established in 1991 to raise funds that support economic education, research and other activities of CERGE-EI, a joint workplace of Charles University and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, with which is most closely affiliated since the beginning. At the end of the 1990s, its activities exceeded the original intention of the founders, and the foundation expanded its activities to support projects not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union.
