Support Adam so he can help people in the treatment of addiction
Adam was set free from addiction in our community and is eager to share his transformative experience with others. The impact of his long-term abstinence serves as an invaluable example in the treatment process. We need Adam to lead our men's community. In this role, he will oversee daily tasks, teach, share the gospel, counsel, motivate, and train members. Additionally, his expertise in furniture renovation and sales will be highly beneficial to our social enterprise.
What is Adam's story and why does he want to help those struggling with addiction?
When I was born, I was put up for adoption and grew up in a foster home. I had enough problems at home and school that I dealt with by spending my time on the streets. That's where I started selling and using drugs, stealing and cheating.
I had my first addiction treatment at the age of 18, followed by several unsuccessful stays in treatment centres and communities.
After all my attempts to do something with myself, I still ended up in prison.
From addiction back to family and working life
Immediately after my release, I started treatment again at Bétel, came to faith in God, and this time I completed the program and became an employee of the community.
I found a wife who also worked at Bétel and together we moved to Pilsen where our two daughters were born and I found a full-time job as a furniture salesman.
How does Adam want to help addicts? My desire is not just to have a job, but a calling and a purpose. I want to work where I can help people with similar backgrounds to find the right direction and hope for their lives. I want to be part of the Bétel team, where lost people are transformed into new and beautiful people. I would like to use my efforts, skills and experience in the place where people like me can regain the trust of others and their own.
Support Adam so he can work in Betel and help other addicts through his story. Adam would be an invaluable asset to the Bétel community. However, we do not currently have the funds to pay his salary. Please help us cover Adam's salary so that he can support his family while helping those going through addiction treatment just as he once did. Thank you for supporting Adam.
