People were already malnourished, exhausted and desperate before the corridor reopened. Now they are even more devastated. They are leaving behind all their possessions, their homes and, sadly, their hope of returning. It takes between 10 and 14 hours to cross the border. The children are cold, hungry, exhausted and scared because of the dropping temperatures. CARE is ready to provide humanitarian aid!

CARE Caucasus is currently assessing the situation and needs in collaboration with local partner organizations. As a result, the organisation is ready to immediately provide items such as food, hygiene items and winter equipment.

In coordination with local civil society, CARE will plan a medium-term response to the needs of vulnerable women and children, including psychosocial support, water, sanitation and hygiene.
