Our sweet little Piglet had an accident at his foster home this past weekend. Piglet accidentally got his toe stuck in the small grates on the radiator, and when he pulled his foot free he fractured his toe and separated the bones. Piglet was examined by Dr. Kamil, an awesome orthopaedic specialist at the Nusle clinic. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the break, the only thing to do is amputate the toe. It’s not possible for the break to heal because the bones are too far apart. 💔

Piglet’s surgery is scheduled for the 8th of December. Until then he has pain medicine and is being pampered by his adoring foster family. The surgery will cost 4000czk - can you help us reach this goal?

In addition to thanking everyone for their support, we’d also like to take this event as a learning moment. Beyond Piglet’s run-in with the radiator, we heard from a few volunteers that similar incidents happened with their kitties. If you have a top grated radiator, be sure to put a cover over top to make it kitty-safe. We know our furry friends love sleeping on the warm radiator, but unfortunately those little slots are a painful trap for kitty toes. Besides, the cover not only makes the radiators safer, but also more comfy for a cat nap! Win-win!
