Our intention is to revitalize our landscape so that it is healthy, strong and varied. Therefore, we focus mainly on planting native trees, shrubs and old varieties of fruit trees in order to increase soil water retention, reduce local temperature, prevent both wind and water erosion, increase soil life and biodiversity, and also create biocorridors in endless fields. In the last year, we have worked mainly on sandy soils, where we have created several fenced draws to reduce wind speed and evaporation and planted over 200 shrubs (hawthorn and rose hips), 750 deciduous trees (apple trees, oaks, maples, birches, cherries, pears, hazel and cranes) and hundreds of apple seedlings, which we grow with love. We also planted 24 high-stemmed apple trees of old varieties. This year, we plan further plantings of draws, seepage belts and extensive orchards, as well as the construction of small water features in the landscape. We are also putting together funds to buy destroyed forest and agricultural land so that we can care for it, return it to nature and "create" natural paradises there. The aim of these projects is not only to buy land, but also to repair traces of human heavy machinery, to plant native and locally belonging species of trees and other plants, and to restore natural systems that retain water and prevent the leaching of fertile soil.
