In the projects of the Barvolam Association, artists labeled as "intellectually disabled" or "autistic" and artists "handicapped by an art school education" (professional artists, art students) meet and collaborate on an equal footing. Since its founding in 2016, Barvolam has gradually expanded its activities. These now include, among others, painting jam sessions, audiovisual works, exhibitions and inclusive art workshops. In 2021, we will continue with these activities and will newly start operating a studio in the center of Prague, that will support 8 to 12 artists labeled as "intellectually disabled" or "autistic".
All activities are based on Article 30.2. of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which guarantees persons with disabilities the opportunity to develop their creative, artistic and intellectual potential, not only for their own benefit, but also for the enrichment of society as a whole.
You can support the activities of Barvolam with a regular or one-time donation.
