On 30th of October, Izmir was hit by a 7.0 destructive earthquake. 105 people died and 1027 people were injured. Over 50 high rise apartment buildings totally collapsed, 243 buildings severely damaged and will be evacuated. Since then 1508 earthquakes have occurred and 44 of these were over 4.0.
District 2440 Rotarians have set up a Rotary tent city (see website: www.disasteraideurope.com). We, Rotarians, are helping them to provide necessities for these and other victims of this tragedy, so please help us to help them.

Tent City: more tents are required and there is a need to set up a mobile laundry facility with washing machines and dryers, portable toilets and showers. The children require tablets and internet to continue their education online. Winter is almost here and these people need warm clothes. Due to the emergency and COVID 19, Rotary wish to make all purchases locally. So instead of donations in kind, please make cash donations.
