We are involved in the formation and creation of new progressive dance works, especially as
a co-producer. We reach children and young audiences and we pay close attention to creating interactive activities for schools and families. We give space to Czech artists, but also extend the possibilities of international cooperation. We provide feedback to local artists. We belong to the Žižkov community and our program, accessible to all regardless of age and nationality, contributes to the revival of culture in Prague 3. Besides dance, we are open to other forms of contemporary live art.
The PONEC Theatre is the home stage of the TANEC PRAHA Festival and the Czech Dance Platform.
Since 2015, PONEC is part of the prestigious EDN – European Dancehouse Network. Of crucial importance for the creation of the theatre's own productions as well as the development of work with the audience is the current involvement in the European project Be SpectACTive! (2015 – 2018) and Be SpectACTive! 2 (2019 – 2022).
