In addition to Roma-related issues, we also cover racism, extremism and human rights more broadly. We publish news reports, analyses, commentaries, interviews and podcasts. We serve as a counterbalance to media content that contributes to the negative stereotyping and generalization of Roma. We are a place readers, viewers and listeners turn to when they seek reliable information, informed analysis, expert perspectives, opinions and meaningful public discussion.

Over the past 23 years, we have built a respected name, received several awards and achieved important milestones.

However, we now need to take the next qualitative step in our development to maintain and expand our audience, to strengthen our fundraising opportunities, and above all to continue fulfilling our mission: improving the media and social image of Roma in the Czech Republic.

The portrayal of Roma in the media is often inaccurate, and key issues are not sufficiently covered or explained. Romea.cz works to fulfill the role that should belong to public service media. Today, that role is either neglected or only partially fulfilled.

Romea.cz aims to be the media outlet that readers, viewers and listeners turn to for trustworthy information, thoughtful analysis and informed debate. We do not seek to be merely a “pro-Roma” activist platform, but rather an open space striving for an objective and balanced perspective.
