WHO WE HELP
Families at risk of poverty who live in poor conditions - in hostels, in unsuitable flats, in excluded localities. Often this is the unbearably difficult situation of a long-term ill lone parent or single parent.
Children struggle to go to school and be successful because they do not have the basic conditions for learning, often not even money for lunches and snacks. It is difficult for parents to get medical care, they have no money to provide basic necessities for their children, and sometimes there is a lack of basic furniture and learning materials for their children. If a family fails to get out of a bad social situation, they are at risk of having their children removed to foster care.
HOW WE HELP
Our social workers establish longer-term relationships with families. They guide them through the entire complex of problems that threaten the family's functioning. We help with expert debt counseling and employment to improve the family's finances and lift the family out of the poverty trap. We help find better housing that will not stigmatize the family.
Our support is really intensive in situations where the family is already falling or in a deep crisis. We provide regular food assistance to families in need until they can stand on their own two feet. We teach parents how to use the available options to improve the lives, protection and good development of children – how to solve health problems, how to provide tutoring for children and help adolescents choose a secondary school, how to retrain, how to get involved in the local community and other procedures. We support the education of children and young people from 3 to 26 years of age, teach them study habits and motivate them to assert themselves in life. We teach children to use their free time meaningfully.

We also operate two shelters for families with children, where we provide accommodation and professional assistance to overcome an unfavorable social situation that poses a particularly serious threat to family functioning.

- shelters for families with children,
- Housing First.
