Cesta von CZ, z.s. is a young organization based in Ostrava that brings the successful Slovak Omama program to socially excluded areas in the Czech Republic. The Omama program focuses on developing the skills of children (0-3 years) necessary for success in personal and professional life, increasing parental competencies, and empowering families trapped in poverty. Omama is a Roma-trained worker who conducts weekly lessons with the child and mather or father, stimulating the child's intellectual, social, motor, and communication skills and discussing issues of child development and care. In these lessons, Omama uses special Play Wisely cards, various stimulation aids, toys, and books. The program also aims to increase parental competence and help parents develop a relationship with their child through shared play.
