We encountered an extremely urgent case that deeply affected us and was very complicated to resolve. It involved a herd of 25 animals (cows, calves, and bulls) that had already been rescued once from a cruel fate in breeding farms or slaughterhouses. In recent weeks, however, these animals have been put up for auction as part of foreclosure proceedings.

For weeks, we worked hard with other people to acquire the animals and protect them from a very unfortunate end—death at the slaughterhouse, transport to the rendering plant, or placement in a breeding facility where they would become mere production "machines."

In the end, we succeeded. On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, we acquired the herd at auction. This is a huge success, but at the same time, it is only the first step in a challenging rescue mission. Now we need to secure permanent, safe homes for the animals and raise funds to prepare these facilities for their arrival.
