Early this year, we encountered an exceptionally urgent case that deeply moved us and was extremely complicated to resolve. Although it initially seemed like an impossible task under extreme time pressure, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, we managed to acquire a herd of cows and bulls (including calves) at a public auction, thereby saving them from a very tragic fate — death at the slaughterhouse, transport to a rendering plant, or placement in a breeding operation where they would become mere production “machines.” We transported the animals to a safe temporary location that very same day, where, during quarantine, they all received proper care, underwent veterinary examinations, and were neutered.

During this time, we haven’t been idle; we’ve been working hard to find, contact, and arrange potential new homes for them, as well as preparing those homes. We’ve already managed to secure a new home for some of the animals on forest pastures in the Ore Mountains, where they’re happily staying—and where the currently pregnant mother will join them after giving birth to her calf. For another group, their temporary home eventually became their permanent safe haven, and a third group of animals was transported by car to the Vysočina region, where they will now learn to graze on fresh grass, run freely in the pasture, discover what a fence is, and look forward to meeting their new families.
