Caring for a loved one who is lying down requires everything - time, strength and heart. Diapers for families in Ukraine, most often in Transcarpathia, who care for sick loved ones. And in the Czech Republic, support for those who remain invisible - Ukrainian seniors and people with disabilities. We help 150 families. Dignified care and human contact - where everything else is often missing.
Aid that crosses borders. To care for another is to be close by. At home. Day and night. Without a break. And often - all alone.
Charity activities
War-torn Ukraine, especially the Transcarpathian region, is a place where hundreds of families care for the bedridden elderly and seriously disabled children. Illness, helplessness, old age - all of this takes its toll on the body, but also on the daily consequences. Without incontinence aids, care becomes an ordeal - for both the cared for and the caregiver. Diapers are not. If they are, they are expensive. Often families have to choose: diapers or food? Intercultural fieldwork
In the Czech Republic, the number of lonely Ukrainian seniors and people with disabilities living in silence and isolation is growing again. They do not belong to the system. They do not know how to ask for help. That is why we visit them in Prague and the Central Bohemia Region as part of our intercultural fieldwork - we provide basic counselling, interpret, accompany, and seek other systemic support. We are often the first to ask them: How are you really? We don't need heartbreaking stories. Help has value in itself.
Your support allows for dignified care, human contact and a little relief in a difficult time. Thank you for helping together. 💙
