Mikasa is a Czech non-profit organization that supports people with autism and other specific needs. Today, eight of its clients are at risk of losing their home due to a lack of funding. Sustainable support from the regional government is essential, but I believe we can also come together to help protect a safe home and a dignified life for those who need it most. Mikasa is a Czech non-profit organization that helps people with autism and other specific needs live with dignity, independence, and the support they deserve.
Today, Mikasa is facing a very difficult situation. Due to a lack of funding, eight clients are at risk of losing the home and support they rely on every day. For people who have found stability, understanding, and care there, this would be a life-changing situation.
That is why I decided to create this fundraiser.
I know that this is not a permanent or long-term solution. Sustainable funding from the regional government is essential. However, I believe that our solidarity can help raise awareness of this situation and show that these services matter to many people. Perhaps together we can even help create the opportunity for a solution that allows these essential services to continue.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to protecting a place that truly feels like home.

Když jsem tuhle výzvu zakládala, vůbec jsem netušila, kam až se společně dostaneme. A teď se na sbírce sešlo už 96 dárců. 🥹🤍

The situation at Mikasa remains very serious.
On Friday, the families of our clients received written notices that the service is being terminated. For many of them, this has brought overwhelming uncertainty and fear about what comes next. Some parents already know they will not be able to bring their children or adult loved ones back home, not because they don't want to, but because the level of care they require is simply too demanding.
Mikasa is the only residential service in our region providing specialized care for people with severe autism and additional disabilities. If the service closes and no suitable alternative can be be found, some clients could end up in facilities that are not designed to meet their specific needs.

Lidé s autismem bývají společností odsouzeni k životu v izolaci. Jsou odsouváni na okraj společnosti. Někam, kde je nikdo nevidí.
Většina z nich skutečně žije v kleci. Ať už v nehmatatelné sociální, nebo doopravdy ve fyzické kleci. Jenže takový život přeci není žádným životem!
Zapomeňte na předsudky a pojďte společně měnit svět autismu.
