My name is Aleš Zavoral, and for the past few years, I have been participating in unsupported long-distance cycling races. This year, as my main race of the season, I will take part in the most famous and oldest off-road unsupported race, the TOUR DIVIDE. I will ride 4,300 kilometers from the Canadian town of Banff, crossing the Rocky Mountains through the entire USA to the border with Mexico in Antelope Wells—all without any external support.

On this occasion, I want not only to push my physical limits but also to support an important cause: palliative care in the Czech Republic.

My goal is to raise 215,000 CZK (approximately 10,000 USD), which means 50 CZK (about 2.30 USD) for every kilometer I ride. All the funds raised will be donated to support palliative care through the DOMESTICI project.

Palliative care is invaluable in ensuring a dignified life for patients with serious illnesses and in supporting their families. It helps not only to alleviate physical pain but also to provide psychological and emotional support. I believe that every kilometer I ride can contribute to ensuring that those who need it most receive the care they deserve and can spend the final stages of their lives at home, surrounded by their family, rather than in hospitals.

Support me on this journey and help change the lives of people who are going through the most challenging moments of their lives. Join me as a fellow Domestici and contribute any amount. I sincerely thank you in advance for your contributions to support palliative care!

All the donations will be distributed among organizations that focus on palliative care and are advancing it in the Czech Republic, specifically:

  • Hospice of Saint Lazarus, which helps people at the end of their lives in the Pilsen region.
  • Mobile Hospice Forum, which is working to make palliative care more accessible in other regions of the Czech Republic.
  • Palliative Care Center, which provides education and awareness, essential for making a good end of life a common reality.
Start of the Tour Divide race is on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 8:00 AM (4:00 PM CET) from the Canadian town of Banff near Calgary, and the finish line is at the USA-Mexico border in Antelope Wells.

You can follow the live race progress, including my position on the map, here: TrackLeaders: Tour Divide 2025.
I will also do my best to share updates throughout the race on my social media channels: Instagram, Facebook and Strava

In cycling, domestiques are team members whose role is to support their leader and help them reach the finish line in the best possible shape. Domestici.cz is a project that connects active people with the topic of palliative care — so that they can support their loved ones while they still have the strength, and contribute to the development of palliative care, which sooner or later, most of us may need.
Life should remain meaningful and dignified until the very last second. That’s what palliative care is here for.
We’ve made our dream come true – together, we’ve raised over 10 million Czech crowns to support this challenging yet deeply human cause that can touch any of us. And this is just the beginning!

Domestici.cz = support for Palliative Care in the Czech Republic

In June 2024, Martin Souček and Tomáš Navrátil stood at the starting line of one of the world’s toughest ultracycling races.
After 8 days, 8 hours, and 23 minutes, they crossed the finish line, having ridden exactly 4,936 kilometers.
A race like that is impossible to finish without domestiques — those who ride in support of the leader, offering help and strength in the toughest moments.
And that's exactly who we’re looking for now: domestiques for palliative care.
Your donations will go directly to support outstanding non-profit organizations:
the Forum of Mobile Hospices, the Center for Palliative Care, and chosen hospices across the country.
Together, we hope to ensure that as many people as possible — whether our loved ones or strangers — can live their final days with dignity and quality of life.
Palliative care is not about curing at all costs. It’s about making sure that when the end comes, it happens in the way the person themselves would wish.
Become a domestique. Join us — and give.

How Exactly Will Your Donation Help?

All donations will be distributed among outstanding organizations that are driving the development of palliative care in the Czech Republic. Specifically:
  • The Forum of Mobile Hospices, which helps make palliative care more accessible across different regions of the country.
  • The Center for Palliative Care, which provides essential education and public awareness — both key to making a good end of life a normal part of life.
  • Chosen hospices across the Czech Republic.
