People with disabilities

The silent hero

will walk more than 3 000 km across New Zealand to support the Arpida Center for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities in České Budějovice and purchase a WalkAide electrostimulation device—a small electronic device that can transform the unsteady gait of people with disabilities into stable steps. Even a small device can have a huge impact. Let's help get hope moving. Adopt my kilometers. Let's remember that together we can achieve great things. So help me raise CZK 200,000 and together let's try to get someone on their feet and make their first steps easier on the path to being able to run tomorrow in the world as it is today. - 3000km - 2 islands - Across mountains, sand, rainforests, and endless plains Every Wednesday and Saturday, I will be in touch with you on Český rozhlas České Budějovice radio station.

Hello, this is Anežka, a girl with a small backpack and a wide smile.

I'm packing my backpack again to get closer. To myself, to the world, and to those who walk their invisible path of courage every day. An adventure called Te Araroa awaits me – three thousand kilometers across New Zealand, from the windy north to the quiet south. I will walk through a landscape where the ocean touches the mountains and discover how much strength lies in silence and a simple step forward. Te Araroa means "The Long Walk" in Maori, and I know that it is not only a fitting name for my next adventure, but also a metaphorical image of life itself. Each of us walks our own path, each of varying length. Sometimes with confidence, sometimes with fear, but always with the hope that something meaningful awaits us at the end. When you walk with an open heart, each step will eventually lead you to doors open to new stories and opportunities.

But even this time, I wouldn't want to be completely alone on my journey. I want to dedicate it to the silent heroes—the adults and children who may not be traveling thousands of kilometers, but who cross their own boundaries every day and face challenges that cannot be seen on a map.

That's why I decided to support the ARPIDA Center in České Budějovice, which has been helping children and adults with disabilities for a long time. And you can join me — simply and with a big impact: by adopting kilometers and setting your own challenge. Anyone can adopt any section of my route — send an amount of their choice for the distance I physically walk on Te Araroa. Or you can create your own sub-challenge under the Silent Hero project.

Wild souls

There is strength in unity, so let's connect across the world and reach our goal together. How to do it?

1.      Come up with your own challenge

2.      Create your sub-challenge — on the page ...  for the SILENT project

3.      Complete your challenge during the entire project

4.      You are a HERO too

5.      Share your challenge with your family, friends, and colleagues and ask them to support you by adopting virtual kilometers

When I return, I will be happy to tell you all about it... About the people who welcomed me, the places that changed me, the moments when I believed, and those when I had to find the strength to believe again.

I hope that my steps will inspire you too and that together we can turn this journey into something more than just kilometers. Into something meaningful. Something that connects people, courage, and goodness. Because even though we are separated by many kilometers, we can still be closer (as human beings).
