Domestic violence affects thousands of people in the Czech Republic. Leaving a violent situation and coping with its consequences requires not only courage, but also reliable support. At Magdalenium, we provide a safe space, confidential contact, and comprehensive professional assistance to people at risk of domestic violence.

We are a non-profit organization MAGDALENIUM, z. s. and for more than 25 years we have been providing professional support to survivors of domestic violence. We help through outpatient services and a specialized residential program with a confidential address for women and children affected by violence. We also engage in awareness-raising and educational activities to help break down myths and support solutions to domestic violence.
Magdalenium Counseling Center
Women, men, children, and seniors seek help at our counseling center — often when they are facing fear, uncertainty, or a sense of hopelessness. With us they find trust, safety, and professional support.
We help people make sense of their situation, overcome crises, restore trust in themselves, minimize the impact of violence.
The counseling center also serves as a bridge for:
clients interested in our residential program
clients and children who have already left the residential program but still need ongoing support
Why We Need Your Support Now?
The counseling center is funded almost entirely from projects and non-governmental sources. Public funding does not cover even the basic operating costs. That is why, for the first time in more than 25 years of our organization’s work, we are launching a public donation campaign.
We want to ensure stability so that hundreds of adults and children can continue to have access to professional support.
Your support would help us sustain:
professional psychological support for children and adults
social counseling for leaving violent environments and life planning
legal counseling and legal representation
therapeutic groups and ongoing care for survivors of domestic violence
The total annual costs of running the counseling center are approximately 2 700 000 CZK.
Your contributions will go toward:
wages of professional staff
operational costs of the counseling center
client materials and support infrastructure
administrative and technical support of the team
