The flood primarily affected mountainous areas in northern Nepal and then moved downstream further inland. Severely affected areas include parts of the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha districts. The flood swept away homes and dozens of bridges and damaged dozens of kilometres of roads. Access to some mountainous areas is extremely difficult due to damaged infrastructure.
ADRA Nepal has been monitoring the situation from the very first hours and coordinating its response with local authorities and humanitarian partners. Initial information indicates that the affected population primarily needs emergency shelter and food assistance. ⛺🍲
The situation is still evolving rapidly, and both the extent of the damage and the number of casualties may change. Your support will enable the ADRA Nepal team to respond and provide assistance where it is needed most. ❤️🩹
