Lebanon currently reports more than 610,000 internally displaced people. As a result of the ongoing war in Iran, at least 294 people have been killed and another 1,023 injured. For those who had to leave their homes, more than 500 shelters are available across the country. Experts describe the current situation as one of the largest escalations in the Middle East in many years.
Help us support people in Lebanon. ❤️🩹
The conflict in the Middle East has mainly affected southern Lebanon, as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and the governorates of Baalbek and Hermel. So far, it has displaced more than 610,000 people and claimed the lives of hundreds of people. 🆘
ADRA Lebanon is monitoring the situation and actively coordinating its activities with other partners in the region under the leadership of the United Nations (UN). So far, the Lebanese government has managed to open 500 shelters for internally displaced people who are fleeing the escalating attacks not only in the south of the country. One of them is seven-year-old Rami from the city of Baalbek, who had to leave his home with his family for fear of losing it (and their lives).
For Rami, it meant that the world he knew suddenly disappeared 💔: “I was very afraid of the bombing. It was incredibly loud, and I forgot my school bag… and my teddy bear. I want to go back to my normal life and see my friends again.” — seven-year-old Rami from the Lebanese city of Baalbek. What will ADRA provide to these residents?
