The cultural event that will kick off the entire festival for the general public will be a round table discussion with literary scholars. The event will take place on December 9, 2025, at the Václav Havel Library, and is intended not only for people interested in literature at a professional level, but also for laymen and students.
As part of the program, visitors will learn about the views of professionals in the field of literature and culture, but they will also hear thoughts and personal memories of Arnošt Lustig, a writer who was nominated three times for the Nobel Prize in Literature, and his attitude towards life and society. The entire event will be filmed and subsequently uploaded to the Václav Havel Library's YouTube channel.
The evening will be hosted by MgA. Karolína Koubová together with guest Jáchym Topol.
Speakers and guests: Tomáš Sedláček, PhD., Prof. PhDr. Tomáš Kubíček, Ph.D., Prof. PaedDr. Michal Bauer, Ph.D., JUDr. Ladislava Chateau, Karel Hvížďala, Eva Lustigová, MBA, Prof. PhDr. Sylvie Richterová, and others.
