The book Zmizelé Sudety (The Lost Sudetenland) has become a phenomenon. Since its first publication in 2003 as a slim catalog accompanying an exhibition of the same name, it has been reprinted six times. And we have completely sold out of the sixth edition!
That is why we are preparing a seventh edition—modernized, refreshed, and with a new look. With your help, we would like to have it printed by the beginning of December so that this exceptional book can delight you and your loved ones under the Christmas tree.

This book is a selective encyclopedia of places - cities, towns, and villages - that have been marked by history and changes to their appearance and ways of life.
The core of the book consists of more than 300 pairs of photographs capturing the state of 12 Sudeten regions before and after the expulsion of the German population. Through a series of insightful texts, the book teaches the reader a lot about:
the complex process of building a sense of home in the "post-German region,"
the approach to local German material and spiritual culture,
the experiments of communist governments in the "conquered" territory,
the demise of old traditions and the creation of new ones,
the current growth of interest in the "foreign" and long-taboo past.
