Children of War: Support a rehabilitation center in Ukraine
Every week, 80–120 children who are struggling with the consequences of war—from deep trauma to serious physical injuries—pass through the Mriya center. It is the only children's rehabilitation center in southern Ukraine. In a peaceful environment, far from the front lines, it helps children who have experienced bombing, lost loved ones, live with disabilities, or are learning to move again after serious injuries.
However, the demand for help is enormous and exceeds the center's capabilities. Every month, dozens to hundreds of children are left without the necessary therapy simply because of a lack of funds and capacity. 💙💛Please support Mriya so that it can continue to operate and provide professional care to as many children as possible who desperately need it.
Up to 90% of children in war-torn areas show signs of psychological trauma– anxiety, sleep disorders, depression. Many have witnessed bombing, lost their parents or loved ones, and thousands have suffered serious physical injuries. Without professional help, these consequences may remain lifelong.
The Mriya Rehabilitation Center, founded in 2023 in Mykolaiv, has responded to this urgent situation. More than 20 professionals and assistants are involved in its operation.
🏘️The center offers up to seven types of therapy:
Hippotherapy 🐎💚 – the calm movement of the horse restores balance and a sense of security to children that the war took away from them.
Canine therapy 🐕💛 – dogs that were rescued when the Kakhovka Dam burst give unconditional love and teach children to trust again.
Physical therapy 🧍💪 – helps those whose bodies have been weakened by stress or injury to regain their strength.
Psychotherapy 🧠💬 – gives children the opportunity to talk about their pain and fear and teaches them that they are not alone.
Art therapy 🎨🖌 – through colors and images, they express what cannot be said in words.
Hydroaromatherapy 💧🛁 – the gentle combination of water and scents brings children a rare sense of calm.
Massage 💆♀️🌿 – touch heals the tension caused by constant stress.
💙💛Results so far
Thanks to Koridor UA's long-term presence in southern Ukraine, we are well aware of how essential and necessary the center's services are. That is why we have partnered with Mriya and decided to support it. Thanks to the funds we managed to obtain from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the center has been modernized and expanded its services since spring 2025. Today, it operates year-round, with heated premises, new therapeutic equipment, and facilities for outdoor therapy. It can help up to 2,880 children annually.
💔But even that is not enough
The preliminary estimate of the number of children in the region who need rehabilitation or therapy is 6,267! 💔 This means that the demand for help is more than double the center's current capacity.
⚠️ Why we need your support
⚠️Mriya is the only place in southern Ukraine where children can receive specialized rehabilitation and therapeutic care of this kind. ⚠️ Without your support, we will not be able to increase our capacity, and many children will be left without help.
👉 Help children overcome the consequences of war. Thanks to your donation, they can learn, grow, and live a fulfilling life again.💙💛
